Welfare Effects of Agricultural Foreign Direct Investment in Developing Countries

Many developing countries have embraced policies to attract foreign direct investment into their respective economies including the agricultural sector enhance technology transfer, employment, and trade among other benefits. On hand, has been associated with competition local produce from imported raw processed products land grabbing that deprived farmers of for cultivation. These could implications employment indigenes in consequently welfare. This raises question, does promote or discourage welfare? In this paper, we assessed welfare effects countries. Using an unbalanced panel data 51 1990 2019 a fixed-effects estimator, found promotes Openness trade, population growth, human capital, infrastructure enhanced Whilst government expenditure did not welfare, inflation affect promoting agriculture, governments must improve develop infrastructure, pursue openness policies. Final on goods services needs be redirected funding projects programmes health, education, income citizens, especially poor.
